   MINUTES OF THE MEETING

1)    Welcoming the PTA members and reading out the previous minutes.
The PTA members were welcomed by Mrs. Poonam and she then read out the previous minutes. While discussing the security of the children , the ‘pick up’ card introduced by the KG section was appreciated. However, one of the PTA members shared that in route no. 3 one day the card was not checked. This feedback was appreciated and Dr. Ashwini  Kulkarni instructed Mrs. Poonam Patel ( co- ordinator) to look into its implementation.

2)    Annual Gathering

Mrs. Maya Sawant informed that the dates for the Annual Gathering is 15th and 17th Dec and the theme for the same is “Happiness”.  It will be conducted in 3 slots . Slots will be informed later. One of the PTA member suggested to conduct the gathering  in the school premises. However, the director said that the ground is not sufficient for the same and it requires closed auditorium for required effect . This was agreed by all.

3)   Best Class teacher award

Principal madam informed  that this year the school has decided to give the best class teacher award . The winner will be announced in the annual gathering.

4) Other points:

  • The PTA member of Std 1st  said that the yearly calendar in the school website is not updated. Also PTA member Mrs. Surabhi. D said that she didn’t get a reply for the mail sent by her on the school email account.  It was assured that the matter will be taken into consideration immediately.
  • Regarding the medical camp conducted by the school, PTA members suggested that the report given should carry the  proper name of the doctor and his stamp. They also didn’t have a good experience with the optician as his report was found incorrect. The management said that this matter will be taken into consideration.
  • Mr. Itagi , appreciated the school for giving them an opportunity to be with the children on teachers day. They also shared their experiences and appreciated our children. Mr. Itagi offered to contribute to the different learning projects conducted in the school. The director informed that parents are already being involved in activities like the leadership development programme. She also informed that the school will be conducting a science fair in the month of Nov.

  • The Director mentioned that an activity is being conducted with the teachers to have an integrated approach towards teaching. It has began with few conceptual topics in science like valency, periodic table etc. Similarly it will be done with maths topics too.
  • Different departments will take a lead and will be guided by the  management and documented later. She also added that the school has organized an English workshop  for the teachers. She appreciated the willingness of the teachers to attend the workshop as it is for almost 84 hours which will be conducted during holidays.

  • It was informed to the PTA members that the  Std XIth of City Pride school is doing extremely well too.
  • PTA members appreciated the international award received by the school.
  • The “Khari kamai “ activity too was appreciated.
  •  A PTA member spoke on the increased budget for the drapery of the annual day Rs. 500. Few parent felt that it was expensive. However, the PTA members agreed to the cost as prices have increased.

  • It was also informed that the school is planning to form a band and almost equal percentage of selection will be done from each division of  Std V  .
  • A PTA member suggested that customized homework should be given to the children. After discussion it was concluded that the teacher can give awareness to the parent regarding the need of the child and parent needs to take extra efforts. Dr. Ashwini Kulkarni also suggested that  we need to talk to the parents and  find out  the reasons why certain student’s academic performance appears to be  weak . She mentioned that there could be a possibility  of the child not getting the parents attention or guidance or support at home.   However it was also suggested that children should be allowed to pursue what they like for best results.
  • A PTA member suggested that PTA members should come with an agenda and it was agreed that PTA meetings will be conducted on Saturdays and it will be for approx 3 hrs.
  • Students can carry cameras at their own risk when they go for an overnight picnics. It was unanimously decided and agreed by all PTA members that mobile phones should not be allowed for the picnics.

  • Also the following members expressed their wish to contribute their knowledge for the selection of books for the library.
  •   Mrs. Shalu, Mr Kakade, Mrs. Kotasthane, Mrs. Manisha. Mrs. Gandhi. Mrs. Vidula.

    • It is rightly said “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” So, “Cleanliness Day” will be held on 1.10.14. Kindly send an old handkerchief which can be disposed off later.

    Dear Parents,

    Notice for students: Teachers Day 2014-15

    Dear Parents,

    Std LKG,UKG,Std I ,Std II will have a holiday on Friday, 5th September 2014. They can wish their respective teachers on 4th September, 2014.

    Std 3rd to 10th:

    • Timings:  1:00pm to 5:00pm [including the sports students.]
    • The performance by students for the teachers would be from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.
    • The PTA members have planned activities for the students in the respective classes from 1:00pm to 2:30pm after which the teachers would take over.
    • Students of std 3rd to 7th can spend time with their respective class teachers and subject teachers from 2:30 pm to 5:00pm.
    • Snacks for the students of std 3rd to 7th will be served from 3:00pm to 3:30pm in their classes.
    • Students of std 8th to 10th would be watching the PM’s speech from 3:00 pm to 4:30pm along with their teachers.
    • Snacks for the students of std 8th to 10th will be served from 2:30pm to 2:45pm in their classes.
    • Bus facility for the students availing the facility will be provided to pick and drop the child.

    An Act Of Charity-“Khari Kamai ”

    Dear Parent,
    We all are aware of the landslide incident which occurred on 30th July 2014 in the village of Malin, Ambegaon Taluka, Pune.This environmental destruction has left a scar on every mind which is truly unforgettable. As lovers of mankind, let us all contribute towards lightening the burden of our brothers & sisters of Malingaon and render our help for the rehabilitation of the survivors and for rebuilding the devastated village.
    As an Act of Charity & social responsibility the school has decided to conduct a social service drive called “Khari Kamai” wherein students of Std. V-XI will work by themselves either at their own homes, in their neighbourhood ,or in their society and will be paid for their work. The idea behind this act is not just donating things or money but to feel the joy and pride in earning the money by doing some work & then donating it to the villagers of Malingaon. This is a wonderful opportunity for imbibing the values of brotherhood, love, compassion and sensitivity among our children. The money earned by them will be collected and donated to the villagers of Malingaon. We are sure that every tiny drop of charity would form a huge ocean & we unitedly can enable the people in Malingaon to restart their lives.
    The child will have to get the details filled in the form wherever he/she has done some work .This Act Of Charity  should be completed by  3rd Sept.2014 & the amt. collected along with the form filled should be submitted to the respective Class Teacher on 4th Sept. 2014.

    Kindly take a note of the following.  There was a quiz conducted in our school on Monday 28/07/14 by Derek Group which was sponsored by Yeeppi Noodles. So they had distributed the noodle packets to our students.

     MINUTES OF THE MEETING

    • Welcoming the newly elected PTA members

    The PTA meeting began with a welcome note by Mrs. Shobana. She said that  PTA  plays an important role in smooth functioning of the school. She also requested the PTA members for their kind co-operation and whole hearted support throughout the year.

    • Introduction of PTA Members & Management

    This was followed by the introduction of the PTA members, Management and the        co ordinators. The PTA members expressed their happiness in representing their classes and showed their eagerness in giving their best for the students.

    • Appreciation of Ishita Kakade

    Our 10th std students, Ishita Kakade and Bhargavi Jahagirdar were appreciated as they have received an invitation from our Union Ministry to meet our Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 15th August in Delhi. This is because they won a prize at national level for their science project “Conservation of energy & reduction of pollution through sewage treatment plant”. Mr. Deepak Kakade father of Ishita Kakade thanked the school for their immense support and guidance.
          The following points were discussed in the meeting.

    • Dr. Ashwini  Kulkarni said that PTA is the bridge between the school and the parents.
    • 10 per cent fee rise every year

    Dr Ashwini Kulkarni mentioned that the fee rise every year will be by 10 per cent . She further added that all the parents have signed the document related to 10% rise in fees every year  during admission.
          This was unanimously accepted by all PTA members.

    • Scarcity of water
           The water shortage problem which  has risen in the city was discussed by all.
      Dr. Ashwini  Kulkarni said that children need to be trained to use  resources like water and light wisely as it is the need of the time. Mr. Itagi a PTA member  expressed his desire to conduct a project  on “Auditing water consumption” along with the school student. This was appreciated by all. Mr. Kakade suggested that the school can also take up a project on “Recycling of used water”. The management assured that it will definitely work over it .Most of the members suggested eco friendly ways of saving resources. Use of LED by replacing tubelights was a wonderful suggestion put forth by a member. This would cut down the electricity bill by 40%
    • Transport

    Dr. Ashwini Kulkarni said that  we have a transport committee in our school and this committee meets every three months. As per norms there is a lady attendant and the police verification of every driver has  been done. GPRS system has been installed in route 5 on experimental basis. It enables the parents to know what time the bus left and what time it would reach the stop.Dr. Ashwini Kulkarni mentioned that this year the cost incurred for the GPRS system is not included in the bus fare. All the PTA members appreciated this.
          It was also mentioned that the school adds a bus every year for the children. Also the number of children in each bus is as per the norms of the RTO. It was informed that the lady attendants  and bus attendants will have a uniform and an I-card.

    •  Security system

    Keeping in mind the security of our students CCTV cameras have been installed at all the three gates of the school. This was welcomed by all.

    •  Breakfast
      Dr.Ashwini  Kulkarni informed the PTA that the number of supervisors to monitor the breakfast has been doubled and that extreme care is taken to see that children are served hygienic breakfast. The PTA members were invited to join the breakfast committee. Over this ,Mrs. Kakade and Mrs Karnavat willingly agreed to join the committee to give a surprise check.Members also suggested to serve ‘Khichadi” or “Sabudana wada” on  days like Aashadi Ekadeshi, Mahashivaratri etc.
    • PTA FUND

    The segregation of PTA fund was discussed in the meeting and the usage of it would be decided by the current PTA office bearers.

    • Scholarship fees

       A PTA  said that the scholarship fees to be paid, should be informed at the beginning of the year. The school apologized that it had not been done . However care will be taken henceforth.
        It was  also informed that the  coaching fees  for all the competitive exam will increase every year by 10 percent.
    Mrs. Amita Pandit, an external faculty is coaching scholarship and training students for IPM in our school. She has also been appointed as a member in the ‘Board of Scholarship Exam”.    Dr. Ashwini Kulkarni mentioned that all the merit holders will be felicitated  in the school as  “Super Achievers.”

    • Sports uniform

    There were complaints regarding the PT uniform. Our director assured that we would look into the matter.
                 Other points.

    • One of the PTA members appreciated the activity undertaken by the soft skill department for std 10th wherein students visited different parent of our school for an interaction. The PTA member appreciated the mannerisms and confidence of our children.
    • Some PTA members suggested that we should donate old dress, toys , books etc to needy children. This was appreciated and it was decided that such a noble activity could be planned by the PTA members.

          ·    One of the PTA members suggested that the name and contact number of the family
               doctor should be included in the medical form. This was readily accepted by all.

    • Mr. Amit Agarwal has taken up the task of designing the school website. So it was mentioned that PTA members can share their experiences and appreciation  in the present block of Moments to cherish on our website.

      NOTICE FOR LKG (2014-15)
      Dear Parents
      Kindly note:
      •The academic year(14-15) for Std LKG will begin on Thurs, 12.6.14. Timings for 12.6.14 and 13.6.14 will be from 9.30am to 11.00am. Children need to carry a small bag with a Napkin, water bag and an extra pair of civil dress (in case he/she spoils it.).Everything needs to be labeled. The civil dress need to be packed in a bag and labeled as it will be kept by the teacher in the school. No bus facility will be provided for these two days. Parents need to pick and drop their child. Breakfast will be provided to the children who are availing the facility. Regular school from 16.6.14. Timings- 9.30am to 1.00pm. Breakfast and bus facility will be provided to children who are availing the facility.
      •Books--The cost of books set for Std LKG is Rs.1370. The Amount need to be paid in the school office in cash between 9.6.14 to 12.6.14(timings 9.30am -12.30pm). However it is not compulsory to buy books from the distributor arranged in the school premises. The set of books will be distributed in the school premises on 12.6.14 and 13.6.14 (timings 9.30am to 11.30am), against the receipt of the cash paid. Please note that the clay box in the books set will be directly handed over to the class teacher. The books need to be covered only with a plastic sheet and labeled too.       As per the request made by the parents this year the books will be distributed in the school (Activity Room )
      1) Kindly note , as per the list the set includes all the text books, notebooks & stationery required for the entire year. Check the set thoroughly with the list before you leave the campus.
      2) Since the items are ordered in a bulk the manufacturer offers a discount on certain articles. We pass the same discount to the parents. THERE IS NO DISCOUNT ON NCERT & SSC BOOKS.
      3)Parents are expected to cover & label the text books. Note books should not be covered they should only be labeled.
      4)Charges for Gakken / Educomp / Extra Marks for the entire year are evenly charged from all the students. The above mentioned applications are applied class wise & are very useful to the students. The school bears two third of its total cost and only one third cost has to be paid by the students.
      5) You are kindly requested pay the book amount in Axis bank, Nigdi branch before 15th April 2014. Parents need to carry the challan compulsorily and deposit it at the counter after which the book set will be issued. (Pl ignore the notice incase you have already got the book set )
