
Founder
Late Mr. Manohar D. Jambhekar was the Founder and Chairman of the City Pride Group of Schools and a visionary educationist, social reformer, and institution builder.
In 1963, he established the ITI and Basic Training Center under the Apprentices Act, 1961, which was the first training center of its kind in India. The center received recognition when Mr. Abdul Kadir, Director General of Employment and Training, visited it in 1965.
A pioneer in higher education and social service, Mr. Jambhekar founded the College of Physiotherapy in Maharashtra in 1992, becoming the first to establish such an institution through an NGO. He served as its Founder Chairman and Managing Trustee.
He was also the President of the Kokan Women & Youth's Development Society (KOWAS), Chiplun, an organization that runs a Government-recognized school for mentally challenged children, reflecting his deep commitment to inclusive education and social welfare.
Mr. Jambhekar chaired several renowned educational institutions, including:
- Institute of Industrial & Computer Management & Research (IICMR), offering MCA, MCM, ADCA, and other programs affiliated with the University of Pune.
- Institute of Computer & Electronic Engineering, conducting DTE-recognized technical courses.
- ATSS Computer Center, offering DOEACC ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level programs, CAD-CAM, and various vocational training courses.
- College of Fine Arts & Design, providing Government-recognized programs in arts and design.
Beyond education, he was an active community leader and served as President of the Rotary Club of Pimpri on two occasions (1986–1987 and 1991–1992).
An author and thinker, he also wrote the book "RUDRA – Rural & Urban Development Research Action," reflecting his vision for sustainable social and educational development.
Late Mr. Manohar D. Jambhekar's remarkable contributions to education, skill development, social welfare, and community service continue to inspire generations and leave a lasting legacy in Maharashtra and beyond.
